Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Organizer

Communities United is organizing a Baltimore-based, Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaign led by recently re-enfranchised Marylanders, to move these same voters to the polls. This campaign aims to register a total of 4,000 Baltimore folks to vote prior to the general. As important, we will shuttle approximately 1,440 people to the polls over the eight early voting days leading up to November general election.
The campaign will deploy a GOTV organizer who will coordinate intensive registration canvasses prior to the October 16 general election registration deadlines. The canvass will target individuals living with often overlapping stigmas of incarceration and addiction: particularly those with felony convictions that may not yet know that their voting rights were reinstated in 2016. Under the 2016 law, if you are out of prison, you can vote.

Communities United is now hiring a digital organizer as we work with our national partner organization, Center for Popular Democracy, to build and deploy a new organizing infrastructure. Through coordination, sustained growth and accountability, the goal of this program is to sustainably shift the issue environment on the ground so to run effective organizing campaigns at scale and to strengthen local grassroots power among low-income people of color in Maryland. This position will be responsible for drafting content and collateral for digital channels, database management/support, and using technology to expand and grow our base.
